A Royal Wedding in Dubai: One of the World’s Largest Projection-Mapping Productions
Over six months of engineering, a Max AV Production team designed and delivered a record-scale immersive spectacle — a seamless 16K×16K projected canvas driven by 384 projectors, twin mega LED walls, a bespoke bridal stage ramp, and a 40 Gbps data backbone feeding a 20-node render farm.
The Brief
Create a once-in-a-lifetime visual experience for a royal wedding in Dubai — an immersive environment that would surround guests in fully animated, film-grade content and set a new benchmark for scale.
The client’s vision was uncompromising: a single, unbroken projected canvas so large and so bright that it would read as one continuous world, not a patchwork of overlapping beams. Content had to be photoreal, perfectly loop-able across a three-minute cycle, and mastered at a resolution most production houses never attempt — a full 16,384 × 16,384 pixels. On the ground, the show had to integrate two mega LED side screens and a dedicated bridal entrance ramp, all frame-locked to the same creative timeline.
The engineering challenge was as demanding as the creative one: pushing that much pixel data, in real time, with zero dropped frames, required a network and rendering infrastructure closer to a broadcast facility than a typical event.
The Solution
One accountable team owning the entire chain — creative, content, projection engineering, LED, staging, network, and rendering.
1. The creative & 3D content pipeline
Every frame was built from scratch. Environments, motion sequences, and welcome notes were modelled and animated in Autodesk 3ds Max, then composited, colour-graded, and finished in Adobe After Effects — the same film-grade workflow behind our 3D animation and motion-graphics services. Working natively at 16K×16K meant every asset, texture, and particle system had to be authored at extreme resolution so the final projection stayed razor-sharp at architectural scale.
The result was a three-minute master loop at 16K×16K — seamless, endlessly repeatable, and timed to the ceremony’s key moments.
2. The projection system — 384 projectors, 90° upward
The centrepiece was a projection array of 384 4K projectors throwing content at a 90° upward angle to wrap the space overhead. Each projector was individually warped, blended, and colour-matched so the 384 sources fused into a single continuous 16K×16K image with no visible seams or brightness fall-off between overlaps.
3. Mega LED walls & the bridal stage
Flanking the canvas, two mega LED side screens extended the storytelling and carried live and pre-rendered content, while a purpose-built mega stage ramp gave the bride a cinematic entrance. Screen, stage, and lighting were engineered as one — the discipline behind our LED screen rental and stage design work.
4. The data backbone & render farm
Moving 16K×16K content in real time across projectors, LED, and playback demanded serious infrastructure. We deployed a 40 Gbps network switching backbone to flow data between systems with no bottlenecks, backed by 20+ rendering servers and dedicated rendering workstations to produce and stage the master content. It is the same event-grade networking philosophy behind our event IT & connectivity infrastructure.

The Execution
Delivery spanned more than six months, from creative development and previsualization through infrastructure build, on-site rigging, calibration, and rehearsal. Each of the 384 projectors was hung, aligned, warped, and blended; the network was load-tested at full 40 Gbps throughput; and the render farm pre-baked every frame of the 16K×16K loop so playback on the night was flawless.
On show day, the projection canvas, both LED walls, and the stage ramp ran as a single synchronized system — the bride’s entrance, the welcome notes, and the animated environments all cued to the second.
Six months of engineering, converging into three perfect minutes — repeated seamlessly, at a resolution and scale few teams in the world attempt.
